Sport England launched their Talent Plan for England last week, which outlines their seven principles for investing in talent and explains how we can help produce the athletes that will star on the international stage in the future.

What are your views on the plan? As always look forward to reading your replies

    Happy with 2-7.

Not so keen on no. 1:

We wish to create the world’s best sporting talent system, which consistently delivers results.

I know sport is meant to be competitive (as anyone who has played cricket against me will know).  But, as Cricket Australia has found, to its cost and shame, aspiring to be “best” (to beat all of the others) can too easily descend into a culture of 'win without counting the cost'.

Key principle, for me, at least (and these words are quoted from the plan) would have been

...how we win is as important as what we win.
