Some startling statistics here which can only serve to remind us of the crucial role that regular physical activity and Sport can play in enabling positive mental health for our youngsters.

A sad indictment on society as a whole; would coaches consider social media to be largely responsible for this substantial increase, or does it merely highlight a problem that has been ongoing for decades, or could the ever increasing use of technology be seen as cause/affect and maybe the best method available today to remedy/address the mental health dilemma? Given today’s young performers are almost totally reliant upon ‘tech’ for everything, should coaches (whether they are ‘natives’ or ‘immigrants’ to technology!) be more ‘savvy’ themselves?!
