Breaking down the change into small changes helps to make things more manageable, but it does offer more opportunities for relapses in behaviour. I guess the bast approach is to introduce changes a couple at a time and embed them before making further changes. Then a relapse in one are isn't a big setback that might lead to a complete replace on all areas
